Since the Pew Research Center started tracking social networking use in 2005, utilization among online adults has increased 64%. Today, nearly three out of four online adults (72%) use social networking sites.
And while it's clear that social networking users represent a wide range of demographics, the growth in popularity among specific groups might be surprising. In fact, six out of ten Internet users ages 50-64 are social networking site users.
